Welcome to the Lake James Property Owners Association (LJPOA).
Whether you are a long-time resident of the LJPOA, a new homeowner or a prospective new homeowner, here is some information we hope you find valuable.
Lake James is a private all-sports lake located in Prudenville, Michigan. The lake is fed from springs and rainfall that flow out of upstream rivers, creeks and swamps, thus giving the lake its brownish colored water.
Lake James is approximately 192 Acres in size and comprised of numerous bays, canals and islands giving it more shoreline per acre of lake than most other lakes it size.
While the main body of the lake is 10 to 20 feet deep, most of the bays and canals are less than 10 feet deep.
There are 7 designated parks around the lake for residents to enjoy. Three of these parks have play sets for young children. A private beach for swimming is also available and can be reached by land or boat.
Each property owner is part of the LJPOA and has exclusive rights to use the lake, boat launch, beach and parks.
The operation of the LJPOA is governed by a board of volunteer directors. The Board of Directors is elected by the community to oversee the daily functions and financial responsibilities of the association. The Board is also responsible for maintaining members’ compliance with the established property restrictions and bylaws of the Association.
Upcoming activities and events, announcements, community calendar, property restrictions and Bylaws, meeting minutes and financial statements can all be found here. Please take a few minutes to visit and familiarize yourself with its resources.
This website provides ready answers to most of the questions homeowners may have. If you do not find the information you need here, the Board of Directors can be reached through either the Contact Us or The Board on the menu.
