My wife Jeannie and I bought our place on Lake James in June of 2018 and moved here permanently from the east side of Detroit in May of 2022. We have 29-year-old twin daughters who are both married and live in Grand Rapids. Jeannie and I have been Realtors for almost 24 years and work for Midge & Co., a local Real Estate Office in Houghton Lake.
We absolutely felt we made the best decision of our lives moving to our place on Lake James and our golden retriever Maggie agrees with us 100%. She loves the water and especially going on boat rides. Since this is where we live year-round, we care about all aspects of Lake James and want to be involved in the care and maintenance of the lake. As an avid fisherman, I am concerned about the health of Lake James and want to make sure our children and future grandchildren will be able to enjoy Lake James for future generations.
One of our sons-in-law has a Master's in Biology, specifically in lake and river management, and he has shared a lot of information with me on the do's and don’ts for keeping a lake healthy. Because of my passion for Lake James, I commit to you that I will do whatever is needed to lead the POA as the President. Over the years, I have met and become friends with many of you on the lake, and know your concerns about the care and management of the lake. I feel I can communicate those concerns to my fellow Board members, so we can keep Lake James pristine for future generations.

I am a 69-year old married man with 3 grown children. I am a Ford Motor Retiree. I have previous experience as Association President (Taylor, MI). I also believe in working for the Association and the people of Lake James. I am a good and fair man of all people. I love bringing people together as good neighbors to all, and my work ethics are fair to all. All my neighbors on Driftwood Circle are not just neighbors - we are like family. We are always there for each other whenever needed. I would like to see others here at Lake James have good friends as much as we have here on Driftwood.
I look forward to serving you on the Board.

Hello, I’m Allan Boots, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the LJPOA Board. Both my career and personal interests revolve around technology. I’m passionate about everything tech-related, from programming to exploring new innovations like home automation, drones, and the latest developments in artificial intelligence. When I’m not immersed in technology, I love getting outdoors to hunt or fish whenever I can.
In 2022, my wife Lisa and I took advantage of the opportunity to work remotely during the COVID pandemic, and we relocated to Lake James. We absolutely love the area and enjoy spending time on the pontoon, soaking in the lake views and relaxing. We have two children: our daughter (25), who is a 4th grade teacher near Lansing, and our son (22), who works as a financial planner at a firm in Farmington Hills – both are MSU graduates!
I’ve been volunteering with the Board for over a year now, assisting with tech-related tasks like managing the website. I’ve also served on an HOA board in Troy, MI, where we encountered many of the same challenges we face here at the POA. I look forward to meeting more of you in the coming years. If there’s anything I can assist you with, please don’t hesitate to reach out by phone or email.

Hi, I am Sharyn Francis, and I am eager to serve our lake community as a member of the LJPOA Board. Throughout my career of 30+ years in Operations and Human Resources Administration while working with the public, I realize that no matter the subject, anything can be resolved by communication that produces a desired understanding. Our lake is aging, our focus should concentrate on what our lake will convey five or ten or even 20 years from now. I will be your voice to achieve that common goal to enhance the beauty of our lake for generations to come.
My husband Leo and I have been homeowners on Lake James since 2010 and have made many fond memories with friends and family over the years.
I look forward to spending quality time with many of you and gaining a better understanding of how our community is important to you and your family.
I'm honored to be on the LJOPA Board of Directors and look forward to working with the members of this great community.
My husband Brian and I and our 2 Australian Shepherds became part of the community in March 2018. We currently reside in Berkley but look forward to moving up here permanently in a couple of years. We try to come up every other weekend, especially during the summer.
I have worked for a small company that I helped start since 1989 as a Software Development/Electrical Engineer. In 2015 I also assumed the position of bookkeeper/accounting manager and have become very proficient using QuickBooks. I also helped develop several extensive Excel workbooks to track our project costing/profit along with relational databases.
While my two children were in school I was very active in many volunteer positions which included a monthly newsletter for the elementary school parents, a student directory for several schools, PTA treasurer, Council President, and treasurer for a professional bingo (501c3) our PTA ran for the whole district. I also served as the secretary/treasurer for a women's bowling league for over 10 years and belonged to a non-profit dog training club.
Both my husband and I are very interested in helping our lake stay healthy, safe, and learning more on how we can help.

My name is Mark Rumble. My wife Mary and I bought our first cottage on Lake James in 2018 after spending some time here with friends on the lake. Then in 2020, we sold and moved to our current lake house on Lake James. We have 2 beautiful daughters, a great son-in-law, 3 grandkids and 2 Golden Retrievers who all share our love and enjoyment of the lake.
I have been employed in the generic pharmaceutical industry for 43 years. I feel that my problem solving and successful business experience will be an asset for the Lake James Board and community.
We are both concerned as many of the other lake property owners are of our lake’s health. I will work to represent the community to help find the best long-term solution to control the weeds and vegetation issue as well as any other issues that present to our community.

I have lived on Lake James with my wife Kathy since 2019 and love spending time here. We have two great sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law and five very active grandchildren that also enjoy the lake.
Our primary residence is in Macomb Township, Michigan, but we try to come up to Lake James every few weeks.
I have been retired since 2016 after 40 years at Stellantis (formerly known as Fiat Chrysler, Chrysler Group, Daimler Chrysler and Chrysler Corporation). During that time, I managed all aspects of communications utilizing words and images. This included positions in Graphic Design, Employee and HR Communications and Public Relations. In addition, I was an adjunct professor at Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan for four years.
