The Lake James Property Owners Association (LJPOA) is located within Denton Township in Roscommon County.

All residents of Lake James are required to be part of the LJPOA and pay association dues each year. The annual dues notice is typically mailed each July to the address we have on file. Dues are payable by October 31st of each year. After October 31st, a 7% late fee is assessed for each lot, for each year they are unpaid.

In the LJPOA we have 828 Properties that consist of 1006 lots. 536 Properties (623 lots) are on the water and 289 Properties (380 lots) are not on the water. Approximately, 35% of our residents live here full time and 20% of our lots are undeveloped.
The LJPOA annual meeting is typically on or near the 3rd Saturday in August. A notice will be sent out 30 days prior to the meeting with specifics on the date, time and agenda.
A private boat launch is maintained by the association and available for all LJPOA homeowners (both on and off the lake). Access to the boat launch is off of Lake James Drive through the Moosehead Park entrance.
Property Owners must have their own key to enter Moosehead Park. Keys are managed by the LJPOA Board. If you do not have a key, please contact the LJPOA Board at: lakejamesmi.com - The Board
Please do not share you boat launch key with anyone else. You are responsible for the key and will be charged for a lost or stolen key.
Each year the LJPOA puts on a boat parade and homeowner picnic. These events are typically on or near July 4th. A detailed notice for both will be communicated prior to the events.

Lake James has great fishing. Each year the LJPOA holds a fishing contest for two age groups: 18 and older and 17 and younger.

Trash pickup for Lake James is typically on Monday mornings through the Denton Township Waste Management Department.
