Annual Boat Parade

BOAT PARADE INFORMATION

The LJPOA boat parade was started several years ago as a way for residents and their families to have fun and express their creativity.

Each year (typically around the July 4th holiday weekend) residents will decorate their boats in different themes and cruise the lake.

Rules

To participate, pick a theme for your boat/pontoon. For instance, fix it up to look like a pirate’s ship, an America theme or whatever you want. Try and name it with a sign big enough for the judges to read. Use your imagination, some people are very creative.

On the day of the event you will need to register your boat at the boat launch located at Moosehead Park just before 10:00 am. Then, all participants will line up their boats and cruise the lake where residents can watch, cheer you on and vote for their favorite boat.

All winners will be notified either later that day or the next day.

Special Winner’s Trophy

A plaque will be engraved with the winner’s name and theme name.

Please note: It will take time to get the plaque engraved and affixed to the trophy along with the past winners.

Unfortunately, the winners do not get to keep the trophy, but can keep it until next year’s parade.
