A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Volunteers
The LJPOA Board would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who generously volunteered their time and effort to help clean up our parks and lake in preparation for the summer season. Approximately 25 dedicated individuals contributed—several bringing chainsaws and trailers—to support this important community effort.
Earlier in the week, Linwood Park received a thorough cleanup. Yesterday, volunteers turned their attention to Moosehead, Hazelwood, and Matchwood parks. Today, another hardworking crew is continuing the momentum at Ridgewood Park.
Thanks to everyone's hard work, we were able to remove 5–6 trees that were either dead or posed safety concerns, in addition to collecting significant amounts of trash and fallen branches. Altogether, nearly six trailer loads of debris were cleared. Despite a few damp moments, we were fortunate to have mostly cooperative weather.
It was truly inspiring to see such strong community participation, and I (Allan Boots) personally enjoyed the opportunity to meet and connect with several residents.
Thank you again for helping to keep our community spaces safe and beautiful!

Hazelwood bridge has been repaired. A special thanks to Tom Schmaltz and Randy Jenkins for giving over 6 hours of their time. Many thanks to Don Adams who put in the buoys and ropes for the swim area and cemented the grill in place. The volleyball net is up. I also want to thank Tom Rose for removing all the old bridge wood. You four gentlemen are appreciated more than you know. - Jan Ferencz
The post that were at both ends of the stretch of side walk that goes between the fence by the pole barn have been removed. This was done because people with disabilities, either had a hard time getting by them and/or just plain could not get by them, thereby making getting through that area impossible for them...
Notice: No motorized vehicles: i.e. No ATVs, snowmobiles, mini bikes, motorcycles, go carts, etc., are to go through that area.
FYI: You May notice work going on at Moosehead Park... After two years and a lot of conversation, I have finally got Porath to start working on our Erosion project... The idea is to protect the outside 500’ feet of Moosehead Park that faces the main body of water... To stop the wave action from washing more and more of our shoreline away...
Been a busy few weeks. Spent a few days picking up limbs and debris in the parks. All of the new picnic tables (7 out of 10) except three as of this writing have been placed in the parks and a few old wood tables were removed. The post that was down at Ridgewood Park was replaced with a new one a couple of weeks ago.
Today fixed a board that is in the beach area of Hazelwood Park and put up a new volleyball net. Will keep you updated on future progress.
