2024 LJPOA Fishing Contest Results
We really had an amazing year and a bunch of participation in the contest. It was very competitive and it showed how productive our lake is in terms of the fish population. The Youth category was amazing. We had 6 youth bass submitted that were longer than 19 inches. We had to use the weight tie-breaker in multiple instances. Thanks to Terry Bone, Allan Boots & Mark Rumble for sharing the costs of the trophies this year - No LJPOA funds were used to hold the contest. We are looking forward to the 2025 fishing contest - stay tuned in the Spring for details!

The Michigan Natural Resources Commission approved increased harvest opportunities on several lakes throughout the state, including Lake James. The regulations took effect Oct. 15. 2021
Lake James is among 21 bodies of water that will now allow anglers a new daily possession limit for northern pike.
Up to five northern pike of any size may be taken, with only one greater than 24 inches allowed. The new regulations are meant to address abundant and slow-growing northern pike populations and to provide additional harvest opportunities.
