Hello Neighbors
Rocky Daversa our board member who works with Savin on our lake water quality, was notified by Savin that one canal on our lake has tested above the safe limit for ecoli. Savin tests our lake twice a year. Rocky immediately contacted the Health Dept here in Houghton lake.
He was advised to communicate this to our residents. It is advised not to swim in this canal, as the bacteria exceeds the limits for safe swimming, at the deep “T” canal closest to the tube on Roscommon Road. Surrounded by Lake James Drive, Atwood Drive, Seawood Ct., Baywood Ct., and Seashell Ct.
The remaining canals, main body and Hazelwood Beach swim area are recording at safe levels.
LJPOA expects to hear from them again soon, as the Health Dept. will be out to test the area.
As soon as LJPOA hears anything from the Health Dept, we will again post to email, website and NextDoor Lake James.
