Due to the unfortunate disregard and respect for our parks the following apparently needs to be spelled out for some people.
Watercraft of any type are not to be launched from any LJPOA parks except at the boat launch at Moosehead park. The only exceptions are canoes without motors, kayaks, blow up floating devices for people/ children that are swimming(i.e. play toys, tubes, pads, etc.).
We had an incident on 5-7-20 where I received a complaint from a home owner of someone backing up to the Linwood park gate and then dragging a boat with motor through the park to the water, I went to investigate and caught them in the act. They said there was no sign saying they couldn’t and that they had looked on the website and didn’t see anything there against it either. I explained to them that they couldn’t do that and that is what the boat ramp is for. Then they said, their landlord had a key, but they didn’t ask him for it. I can see several issues with this, to which one will be dealt with now(statement on website) and the other at a later date.
